About Mao

Hello, my name is Mao. I teach trumpet, piano, and jazz improvisation lessons for any instrument. I have extensive experiences of performing in the international and the domestic scene. I have the vast knowledge of many kinds of musical genres such as jazz, Japanese traditional music, world music, latin music, and classical music to create his identified style. My trumpet teachers, Tiger Okoshi and Sean Jones, always know about what students need to practice. Seeing them over 5 years in Berklee College Of Music, where I received my master's degree, gave me many materials so that I can pass the knowledge down to the younger trumpet players in the lesson room. I also studied under grammy-winning artists such as Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, and Teri Lyne Carrington at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, and I performed with them. Through the experiences I have got from them, I found the unique approaches to jazz music. The approached developed my fundamental rhythmic awareness and reinforced advanced improvisational skills. Thier approaches and unique exercises will help everybody. If you are interested in, please press the yellow button to book the lesson time with me! Or you can also ask me some questions that you might have. I am very looking forward to working with you!
