About Caroline

I am a certified Teaching Artist, and available to teach private or semi-private voice lessons to singers of all ages and levels. The core of my teaching philosophy is to let each student develop at an individual pace and discover a personalized connection to the music being performed. Focus on relaxing and strengthening the breath is vital to finding this connection, since doing so releases tension in the body and allows the voice to ring free. I encourage experimentation and communication, while emphasizing comfort and enjoyment while singing. I make sure to assign repertoire that is relevant to students' strengths and stages of vocal development, while making sure that they also have fun learning and performing such works.

Bio

Lauded for her "distinct vocal color," "very beautiful instrument" and "spectacular tone"; Caroline is a versatile performer who has appeared all over the Greater Boston Area. In the summer of 2015, Caroline was featured at the Vermont Music and Arts Center, a music festival that attracts participants from all over the world. She appeared as the soprano soloist in Bach’s Magnificat and performed other significant chamber works in the soprano repertoire. Other notable performances include recitals at the Longy School of Music of Bard College and a performance of Act I of The Medium at New England Conservatory, in which she sang the role of Monica. A lover of concert music, Caroline also appears as a soloist and chorister in Calliope, a Boston-based ensemble that performs works spanning from the Baroque to the Modern Periods.

Caroline is also becoming increasingly in demand as a singer of sacred music. She is a principal cantor at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in South Boston, and has led worship services in several parishes throughout the city. Her repertoire in this domain spans from traditional hymns and spirituals to Mozart, Fauré, and other prominent composers in the field.

Currently, Caroline studies voice and Alexander Technique with soprano Andrea Matthews. She holds a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from Longy School of Music of Bard College, and a Bachelor’s degree from Boston College.
