Hi! My name is Amber and I am a full time private music instructor in New York City. I've earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Piano from Southern Wesleyan University, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Georgia, and I'm currently writing a dissertation to complete a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Southern Mississippi. I was a music teacher for five years after college and have also worked professionally at the university level as an accompanist and voice teacher. I taught voice on a graduate assistantship at the University of Southern Mississippi and I also have experience teaching all levels of piano.
I began teaching private piano and voice when I was 15. I continued to teach and accompany while getting my college degree. I privately taught up to 30 students a week after school in my first job as a music teacher at Grace Lutheran School in Winter Haven, FL. I served as an accompanist/vocal coach at Southern Wesleyan University and accompanied several choirs at Clemson University while I was getting my Master's degree. I was awarded a graduate teaching assistantship in voice while getting my doctorate at the University of Southern Mississippi. I also taught private piano and voice, all levels, to high school students at Bass Memorial Academy for three years in Purvis, Mississippi.
Currently my New York city studio has approximately 50 students. I teach full-time, giving me the optimum amount of flexibility when scheduling. I look forward to continued growth within the studio and would love for you to be part of it!
